East Central Missouri Behavioral Health Services, Inc. d/b/a Arthur Center is a

community mental health center headquartered in Mexico, Missouri. 

Arthur Center serves the behavioral health needs of approximately 3,800 people a year in the

counties of Audrain, Callaway, Montgomery, Pike, Ralls and Monroe counties. 

Arthur Center’s mission is centered in the concept of “partnership.”  This partnership begins with

the people we serve, their family, schools and the community.  This partnership mission seeks to

meet the people we serve recognizing the need to engage in a relationship of trust.

In addition, to the people we serve and their families,

we seek to partner with other human service

agencies in better meeting the behavioral health

needs of our communities. 

Especially in rural areas, it is important to partner to

avoid duplicating resources when resources are scarce

and often more expensive because of geography and

fewer numbers of participants available.

Behavioral Wellness Programs:

Arthur Center offers behavioral wellness education to the

community at large.  Services include available speakers,

educational information and behavioral healthcare promotion

programs.  Our services are offered to schools, women’s

groups, employment personnel or any other group seeking

information.

Professional Staff:

Our staff includes board certified psychiatrists, licensed

psychologists, advanced practice nurses, licensed clinical

social workers and licensed professional counselors.  All of

these professionals have access to a variety of other

service providers including community agencies, primary

care physicians and specialists.

Referrals and Admissions:

Any individual can call and make an appointment for an initial screening visit.  Arthur

Center makes every effort to schedule appointments promptly at the convenience of our

clients.  The length of the recommended treatment varies depending upon the client’s

individual condition and progress.

Financial Information:

Arthur Center is committed to offering the most advanced and cost effective behavioral

health care.  As a result, we participate in a growing number of managed care and

preferred provider arrangements.  Additionally, our psychiatric services are covered by

most major medical insurance plans.  Please refer to your specific plan for more

information and eligibility requirements.
